Remote Learning
At St Mark’s, we use the Satchel One online platform for setting homework. By posting homework online, we aim to give clarity for students as well as foster greater independence. The platform also has obvious benefits in an environment where pupils may have to work from home.
Alongside Satchel One, we use Microsft Office, which includes Word, PowerPoint, Outlook email, and the OneDrive cloud storage facility. Use of Microsoft Office develops core ICT skills, preparing pupils for the world of work where these applications are commonplace. As with Satchel One, the Microsoft Office Apps lend themselves to remote learning. A key focus for the school is to get pupils using these applications as part of their day-to-day so that they are prepared should they have to switch to remote learning.
This area of the website is aimed at giving pupils and parents the information they need to access Microsoft Office and Satchel One, including how to log in and how to use key functions. There are also links to websites with information and advice on online safety, which we would encourage you to look at in conjunction with our Safeguarding and E-Safety policies.
Should year groups have to work from home, all work will be set via Satchel One. The key thing to note with logging in is that with Satchel One, pupils need to know their school email address and the password they use to log into computers at school. There is no separate Sacthel One login name or password. (See the separate guide for information on how to log in.)
