Headteacher's Welcome - St Mark's West Essex Catholic School

Headteacher's Welcome

One of the most important decisions you will make is the school that your child attends. At St Mark’s we are committed to ensuring that your child receives the best education and the best opportunities.

We believe that every child is an individual and deserves an environment in which they can thrive. There is no limit to what a child can achieve and in the supportive and unique environment we provide, this belief becomes reality.

Our mission is simply to enable each child to flourish, to achieve academic and personal success in a caring, nurturing and disciplined learning environment which embodies the gospel values of love, service, tolerance, trust, respect and forgiveness.

Our well-qualified and experienced staff deliver a curriculum that is ambitious, broad and balanced, and delivers the qualifications and skills that children need to become lifelong learners. This ensures that they leave as active and fulfilled individuals, ready to participate in society.

St Mark’s West Essex Catholic School exists to serve the educational needs of young people in the Harlow and West Essex area from Catholic and Christian families; from families of other faiths; and from families who wish their children to have a caring and supportive school career in a well-disciplined and purposeful learning environment.

When a new pupil joins us, we take the time to build a genuine partnership between the family and school, since we believe that partnership with parents is vital to every child’s future success.

I hope you enjoy reading through our prospectus which gives a flavour of what St Mark’s has to offer. But more importantly, I would like to invite you to our school to sample the culture and ethos which makes St Mark’s West Essex Catholic School unique.
