School Code of Conduct

A high standard of behaviour is expected from all members of the school community.

Respect for self, others and school property is required and great emphasis is placed on positive behaviour and self-discipline. Achievement, social responsibility and positive personal development is rewarded, celebrated and shared with parents; sanctions are used as necessary and parents involved at an early stage.

Discipline at St Mark’s is firm but fair. Parents are expected to give their full support to the maintenance of the school’s standing in the community and all pupils are expected to uphold the good reputation and traditions of the school.

Bullying will not be tolerated at St Mark’s; all children are informed of the school’s anti-bullying policy, which supports all pupils and is included in the taught Personal, Social, Citizenship and Health Education (PSHCE) and Careers programme.

Pupils’ opinions are sought and valued so that there can be no doubt as to what the school, as a whole community, regards as acceptable behaviour which will create a safe, purposeful learning environment in which to learn and play.
