Fair Trade - Young Enterprise

Eleven pupils in St Mark’s Year 12 are taking part in Young Enterprise, a nationwide competition which requires pupils to set up and run their own business throughout the academic year, supported by a business advisor. On 9th March,  six pupils from the team attended a trade fair at the Meadows   Shopping Centre in Chelmsford.

They ran a stall selling pot plants for  Mothers’ Day and environmentally friendly cotton tote bags. Not only did they make a profit from their day’s work, but they were awarded a trophy by the Mayor of  Chelmsford as runners up in the best  overall company category. The judges were impressed by their excellent customer services skills, attractive trade stand and environmentally friendly ethos.
