Year 7 for September 2021

Transferring to secondary school can be a daunting experience for some pupils (and their parents) and even those most ready and confident about moving up can become anxious the nearer it looms. This will be more of a challenge this year due to Covid 19.

Although we would love to welcome you and your child onto our school site to witness the calm, quiet, focussed and caring learning environment at St Mark’s, unfortunately we are unable to do so.

We are very excited, however, to present our school video and would like to invite you to take part in one of our virtual meetings over the next 3 weeks. We hope this will support you in making the best decision for your child’s Secondary School.

As soon as an ‘application for admission’ has been made by the parents/ carers of a child in Year 6 to the Local Education Authority (Essex County Council) on the Common Application Form, a Supplementary Information Form (SIF) should be completed and returned to the Admissions Officer at the school.

To obtain a SIF or to register for our virtual meeting please contact Ms Kilvington on 01278 421267, or e-mail Year6@st-marks.essex.sch.uk (SIFs can also be downloaded from this website: www.st-marks.essex.sch.uk)

At St Mark’s we have an extensive, structured transition programme so that all children, and their families, feel secure and well-prepared for this exciting phase of their educational journey.

Applications are welcomed from all.
