Year 12 ‘Upskill’ Day

On Tuesday 6th February, 35 Year 12 pupils took part in an event called ‘UpSkill’, which was delivered by Visionpath, as part of the ‘Price Bailey Inspires Careers’ programme.  Price Bailey are a local accountancy firm .

The pupils were led through a planning process by Matt Kepple the facilitator and a team of volunteer mentors from Price Bailey. They were to develop an innovative product that they pitched to The Tigers Cage panel with Patrick Philpott, the Founder of Visionpath, and Paul Fox, a Senior Manager working in the City of London office of Price Bailey. 

Throughout the day the pupils gained skills in thinking creatively, problem solving, collaboration and self-expression, as well as presenting. The winning team, led by Vicky Cox was called 'Your Hands', they developed a booking system phone app which could be used for several purposes including the checking of the availability of doctors and appointments, without having to call a surgery.  The winners all received £25 worth of iTunes vouchers.
